Recommended Brew - Espresso
Where to start with Hope Street Espresso. Well, Hope Street would probably be the best place! That’s where we started with our original 2.5kg roaster. We blended, and cupped, and sampled, then re-blended and re-cupped and re-sampled until we had something that we thought was great.
Hope Street Espresso looks forward to the new generation of espresso. The cup is full of dark berries and salted caramel notes, underpinned by a rich dark chocolate foundation. Bright and lively on its own, moreish with milk.
This coffee is made up of a blend of the Popayan Reserve from Colombia, and the Pena Roja from Guatemala. We bought the Popayan Reserve directly from the farm owners, which means that there is no middle man and that profits are invested into offering reliable incomes to over 400 farmers in the area, and into sustainability projects that help make ecological preservation work alongside coffee farming. The Pena Roja is produced by 81 smallholders in the western highlands of Guatemala, brought together by the Cooperativa Agricola Integral Peña Roja and the Fedecocagua union. Profits are reinvested into the community, with the cooperative offering free nursery education to children in the area.
